Player Statistics For The Mighty Reds
So you think you know everything there is to know about Manchester United? Answer me this, who has played the most games for the club? There are some very interesting player statistics that highlight the illustrious history of the club, just like the photo above of the 1905/6 team that won promotion to the top flight.
The top five appearence list certainly reads like a who’s who of the great footballers, and who wouldn’t be proud to have his name up in lights like that? The top five is as follows:
1 - Sir Bobby Charlton, 1953-73. 759 appearences
2 - Ryan Giggs, 1991-present. 697 appearences
3 - Bill Foulkes, 1952-70. 688 appearences.
4 - Alex Stepney, 1966-78. 539 appearences.
5 - Tommy Dunne, 1962-73. 536 appearences.
This is definitely the who’s who of the soccer world, but who would have thought that Giggsy would have been up there?!
