Man Utd Fans Penalised

 

Manchester United fans have been informed that they will be able to travel to Rome to watch their team play in the semi-finals of the Champions League, despite speculation that they would not following a UEFA fine in recent weeks. That was a result of crowd trouble again Lille in France that was more the home club’s fault than anything.

However, Roma have declared that Manchester United fans will have to wait in the stadium until all home fans have left in an attempt to prempt any possible crowd trouble there. It was the Italian police that have made the decision rather than the club. However, I think that it is just another attempt by another country to make our fans out to be violent hooligans when, in truth, countries like Italy and Turkey have far worse records than us. It is a form of discrimination because it would actually make far more sense to let 4000 out first rather than make them wait for a further 60000 to leave.

Back To The Club - Weekend Fixtures

 Now that all of the international fixtures of the last week are out of the way, the focus will shortly be firmly back on domestic competition.Macnhester United will be expecting Wayne Rooney back from England duty in excellent condition and raring to go for this weekend’s Premiership fixture against Blackburn.

United are six points clear in the title race with only eight games to go. However, Blackburn may prove to be a challenge on Saturday. Watch this space for team news in the next couple of days!

Rossi Vows To Make Impression In 2007/8

                                                                    

Guiseppi Rossi, Italian under-21s star and Manchester United player, has vowed to make an impression on the Premiership in 2007/8 when he returns from his loan deal with Parma. Having spent the first half of this season at Newcastle and the second with Parma, he has impressed Sir Alex Ferguson with his ability and willingness to improve his game.

Rossi is contracted to United until 2010 and should see out his contract. If he continues to improve at his current rate then he will be one of the rising stars of the club’s future!

Did you know that Malcolm Galzer has actually banned people from taking banners into Old Trafford when he took over as Chairman? Only regular visitors to Old Trafford that used to take banner in with them do. 

As a result of a somewhat unfair policy that is meant to subdue the fans’ anger at Glazer taking over, Stretford End Flags has set up a website in protest at www.stretfordendflags.com and is asking for donations for the Manchester United superflag! 

Believe it or not, they also have an online shop for you to purchase banners just like those that fans used to display in the Stretford End all the time.

Be a true fan. flaunt the ban!

Rooney In England Row

                                                             

Wayne Rooney is renowned for his fiery temper at both club and country level, having gotten into trouble as a result of it many times in the pasr. However, this time it appears that it has caused trouble off the pitch as well as on it.

Frustrated by England’s lack of results in recent months, it has been reported that he had an argument with England coach Steve McClaren after the 0-0 draw with Israel at the weekend. McClaren reportedly took his frustrations out on Rooney who then retaliated with a fe home truths. McClaren has denied that it ever happened, but sources cose to the England camp say that this is not the case. It will certainly be interesting to see whather Rooney lines up to start the match against Andorra on Wednesday.
