Premiership Highs And Lows

Here are some interesting facts for you on Manchester United’s Premiership records. As an ever-present since the league actually began, there are plenty of them!
Manchester United lifted the first Premiership trophy in 1992/3 and have won it eight out of the first twelve years. Not a bad average really. I think that it is fair to say that’s what you call domination!
The club has won more games, suffered less defeats and scored more goals in th Premiership than any other. They also hold the record for the most goals in a season. They achieved 97 in 1999/2000.
2003/4 saw Manchester United finish outside the top two for the one and only time in their Premiership history.
Rio Ferdinand became the first player in Premiership history to be suspended for missing a routine drug test in 2003. He was banned for eight months, which may go some way to explaining the league position at the end of that season!
