I think he is a good left back but his recent form, ever since he was blitzed by Aaron Lennon in the Carling Cup final, has been nothing short of terrible. One of the best ever? I don’t think he’ll be remembered in 20 years time.

No, He’s French, OJ, I love the French, but seriously he’s a good defender, but not legendary, like: Cafu, and there aren’t too many great defenders nowadays, that’s why Liver,pool keep on winning, by massive differences, I don’t even support them, and I’ve referenced it.
He’s good but Vidic and Sergio Ramos are much better than him.
Definitely, maybe even a strong candidate for greatest player. We would never have been the World champions if it weren’t for him!
As for Lennon, he is class! He would take any teams full backs on? Dint you see him destroy Chelsea!
at united dennis irwin was better, but he is better than silvestre. not that silvestre was bad
i wouldnt go that far at all.

He is not a “greatest” he is a good one from this few years, he is really good, he can be in the best team of this year but he’s not on the top
I can think of 3 better full-backs without even trying.

Stuart Pearce.
So no, not one of the best ever, maybe one of the best in the premiership at present though.
