United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said the confrontation with Liverpool is the biggest in club football. But Pallister told BBC Sport: “City have jumped over United in the Premier League table and proved they are going to be serious title rivals this season. “This might become the big game for United more than Liverpool.” “It is all set up for an absolute cracker because both teams have also been in decent form. “For many years it has been the Liverpool game that has been the stand-out fixture for United, but maybe that is starting to change with the money City have spent and the fact that they are getting stronger. “This might become the big game for United more than Liverpool. “United have had the upper hand in recent years but I’m sure City will see it as a chance to change things. It’s such a massive game, a collision of two juggernauts.” Pallister believes the tactical approach of City manager Roberto Mancini will do much to shape the outcome of Sunday’s derby. He said: “In the recent past City have come with a negative approach but this season they have been more flamboyant and more open and have some real quality in attack with people like David Silva and Sergio Aguero. “If they are negative then we could have a first 60 minutes like we had between United and Liverpool at Anfield, but hopefully they will be positive – and then we really will have a cracker on our hands.” Pallister, who won four Premier League titles playing for United between 1989 and 1998

    @johnpaulm551 he may of made 71 passes at 97% but how many of them were 1 or 2 yard passes?

    @WeDoWhatWeWant20 fuck off!! every team needs a local rival. Arsenal and Spurs. Everton and Liverpool. Aston Villa and Birmingham city. Man City and Man Utd. It’s what makes the match more exciting. Im sure Utd fans look forward to playing against City, and im sure Arsenal fans looks forward to playing against Spurs. IMO it would be boring if your team didnt have a local rival.

  15. WeDoWhatWeWant20 says:

    @TheSlipknotfanboy True. But we were still the best supported before then. In the 70′s, 80′s even when Liverpool were dominating.

  16. TheSlipknotfanboy says:

    @WeDoWhatWeWant20 your history and real fan base started early 90′s shut the fuck up

  17. WeDoWhatWeWant20 says:

    @kanafa44 That’s why City’s attendances have increased this season, ehhhhhh? United have had the best support in the country since the 40′s. You plastic waaaankers!

  18. WeDoWhatWeWant20 says:

    @kanafa44 United beat City 1-7. 2-3 is better. Knocked you out of your only trophy in 35 years!

  19. kanafa44 says:

    @WeDoWhatWeWant20 choose a real team with real fans and not plastics choose supporting your team even when they dont win much

  20. kanafa44 says:

    @WeDoWhatWeWant20 which scores better 6-1 or 3-2 ?

    Choose to only support your club when they win things. Choosee to copy other club fans celebration and pretend you never mocked it before. Choose to be laughed at by the whole world. Choose to pay over the odds for players and waste hundreds of millions under 3 years. Choose to destroy football

  22. WeDoWhatWeWant20 says:

    Choose to be bitter. Choose to claim your a big club when you have 2 League titles and 0 European Cups. Choose to get snubbed by players with class and only sign greedy players that wanted other clubs before moving to ‘Etihad =United stadium’. Choose to call us rags when your clubs owned by Arabs..

  23. WeDoWhatWeWant20 says:

    hoose City. Choose 35 years without a trophy. Choose 43 years without a League title. Choose to sing and chant ‘Munich’ but ignore Frank Swift. Choose to lie about Manchester being Blue, when you have thousands of empty seats at Etihad. Choose to name your ground ‘United’. Choose to live in United’s shadow.

  24. WeDoWhatWeWant20 says:

    @kanafa44 2-3
