The Boy Carrick

“He put in several impressive displays for the Spurs midfield. He was subsequently selected for England’s World Cup Squad and put in good performances at the finals. The summer of 2006 saw him moving to United with much expected of him. Only time will tell whether this young geordie will truly fill Keano’s boots.”
Last year this was said about Michael Carrick on this very site and I think that it is fair to say that he has delivered. Last season, Michael Carrick led the midfield valiantly and the fruits of his labour can be seen in the results of the Premiership. Hopefully they will lead on to European glory in the coming season!

Bardsley Ready To Move On
Manchester United defender Phil Bardsley has sparked transfer speculation by stating that he feels it may be time to move from Old Trafford to pastures new. Bardsley, on lloan with Aston Villa at the moment, may look for a permenant move to Villa Park because he feels that he has gone as far as possible in Manchester.
Bardsley has been second choice to Gary Neville for the past two seasons and has stated that he cannot see that changing any time soon.
If you do go Phil, good luck… we wish you all the best.

Players May Remain Out On Loan

With transfer speculation stepping up a notch or two as it is drawing towards the end of the season, people are now starting to discuss the fate of the younger players that are out on loan for the sake of experience. Danny Simpson, Jonny Evans and Gerard Pique are all out on loan and have been all season but expert speculation has them placed at their current on loan club or another of Ferguson’s choosing for another year.
Pique is doing well a Real Zaragoza, Eavans and Simpson are both at Sunderland and all three have shone this year. They all certainly have bright futures but may be tempted to sign for someone else should they be left out of the club set up for too long. Ferguson must really decide exactly what he wants to do with them or indeed whether they have a future at United at all.

The Magc That Is Paul Scholes
Speaking of Paul Scholes, I think that it is about time we got to know our ginger midfielder a little bit better!
Scholes is Manchester through and through. Not only was he born in Salford but he has never played for another club. He began training at The Academy at the tender of age of 14 before signing a YTS contract upon leaving school in 1991. During his time in the youth team they actually won the FA Youth Cup. He was part of the soom to be first team squad with Beckham and the Neville brothers, which is one of the main reasons why Alex Ferguson bumped him up to first team duty in 1994, after just three years in the youth ranks. He actually scord twice in his full first team debut against Ipswich Town, a game that the Reds ultimately won.
Scholes soon became a regular in the side and established himself during the 1994/5 season, when he scored 5 goals in 17 appearences. However, he had to wait until 1997/8 to becaome a first team regular. Since his debut, he has won copious amounts of silverwear and is perhaps one of the most crucial players to Manchester United’s season to this day. Although retiring from the England national side, Scholes continues to play an active role for Manchester United, and hopefully will well into the future!

Transfer Speculation

As the end of the season swiftly approaches, it is only natural that Manchester United are linked with potential summer signings, but this year the rumour mill seems to have gone into overdrive! Fernando Torres, David Villa, Dimitar Berbatov and Raffaele Palladino are just some of the strikers that have been linked without the rest of the team positions!
We obviously need a striker as Alan Smith will never be back to his best ever form and Solksjaer seems to be getting injured at least twice every season, but Alex Ferguson will only buy quality. As a result, look for a bid for Villa!

Stock Player Photos!

Manchester United fans everywhere search for clipart and photos of their favourite side every day, but there are very few sites that have definitive stock photos for fans to choose from. This is especially annoying if you have your own website or are trying to create something on your computer. However, I found the best stock photo site out there.
Acclaim Images has an array of stock photos to choose from. All of the current players, including Ronaldo and Rooney, as well as some of the old, like Best and Charlton, are there. And there are some unusual images too. The one above is of an image on the side of a pub in Belfast, erected in homage to George Best.
