Eidur

The rumour mill is at work again! This time Manchester United have been linked with Eidur Gudjohnsen, the former Chelsea striker currently with Barcelona. He hasn’t really made it away from the Premiership and is looking to return, with the biggest club in the league at the moment. It is thought that Barca would sell him for around £8 million because he is still contracted until 2009, but he may be just the player to lead the front line in the coming season.

Ronaldo Causing More Trouble

Roni

Cristiano Ronaldo is causing more trouble for Manchester United as we approach the summer, but this time it is no fault of his own. Real Madrid and Barcelona are still sniffing round and trying to lure him to Spain, which is closer to his native Portugal than Manchester! This week, Sir Bobby Charlton has come out and slammed the clubs for unsettling the Manchester United squad ahead of their Champions League tie against Roma this week.

It is undeniable that Ronaldo has been in awesome form this season, having scored 18 goals since kick off last August. He is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world at the moment and I have a feeling that these rumours will not go away. It will make for an interesting situation when the transfer window reopens in May.

                                                                Deco

With just weeks left of the 2006/7 season, the summer’s transfer speculation has already begun! Manchester United has already been linked with some big names, like Bayern Munich’s Owen Hargreaves, but they’re getting even bigger by the day.

Today, United were linked with Barcelona’s Deco. Deco is undoubtedly one of the best players in the world and would be an asset to any squad, but if Manchester United actually bought him then it would set the squad up for another title battle next season. The fee would easily be in excess of £15m, possibly even more… but it would certainly be worth it!

The speculation rages on as to whether or not Cristiano Ronaldo will be a Manchester United player this time next year. Barcelona have been reported in today’s press as saying that they are confident that Ronaldo will be playing at the Nou Camp next year.

However, David Gill, a Manchester United executive, has countered those claims by saying that he is confident that Ronaldo will sign a new deal in the next few weeks that will tie him to the Red Devils until 2012. Only time will tell whether or not this is the case, but Ronaldo himself has stated that he is very happy to remain at the club. And silverwear this year will help to keep him that way!
