Injury Updates…
There is finally some good news with regard to injuries at United. Park Ji-Sung, who had been out for 2 months, has now returned to full fitness. He came through a reserve team fixture last week unscathed and looking his sharp old-self again. This must be wonderful news for Sir Alex Ferguson who has been mentioning how important squad depth is, especially during the hefty festive schedule.
“I am entirely recovered from the injury,” he said on Wednesday. “Since last week I’ve been in training, so I don’t think there is going to be any problem.
“The two ligaments in my ankle were broken, so I had surgery to connect them - and then I had to have three months of rehab.”
With Park joining Ole Gunnar Solskjaer on the comeback trail, Rossi’s loan period at Newcastle drawing to a close and Henrik Larsson due to link up with his new team-mates next Sunday for the start of a week’s training before returning to begin his loan stint at Old Trafford in the new year, SAF suddenly has some attacking options. So, all in all, things are coming together at OT and the addition of a midfielder would just bring our squad depth to a level where we could sustain the festive period with cover for potential injuries to key players. So if all goes according to plan, that pretty little Premiership trophy should be sitting in United’s cabinet come May! Amen to that!

Manchester United Player Profiles : Park Ji-Sung
The pacy South Korean arrived at United in the summer of 2005 for an undisclosed fee. He joined from PSV Eindhoven and Guus Hiddink was all praises for him. He had had a great season in 2004-05 winning the dutch title and the cup to do the double, not to mention reaching the last-four stage of the Champions League before bowing out to AC Milan.
Park is more of a winger, with the capability to play at either flank. He bagged his first ever goal as United beat Birmingham City in the Carling Cup quarter-finals in December that year. He has a nice pacy look to him, with good skill on the ball. He may not always feature in the first team at United for the time being, but he is one who needs some more time to adapt to the English game. All in all, he is a very promising player and could potentially become a regular provided he adapts a little more and hopefully he will, given the skills he already possesses.
Park is injured at the moment, recovering from a leg injury but should be back in contention soon.
