Rio Ferdinand - Great Defender Or Expensive Mistake

                              

 Manchester United bought Rio Ferdinand for £29 million from Leeds United in 2002. He has since played almost 200 games for the club in all competitions, but was he really worth all that money?

Undoubtedly Ferdinand is a greatest defender with skill and the ability to save a game from the jaws of defeat with strong defending and a fearless attitude. However, he is anything but consistant and tends to have as many bad games as he does good.

Thew inflated price that United paid for Ferdinand is indicative of the ridiculous prices being paid across the board for quality players. And don’t forget to consider that he still has a good ten years left in him yet!

I was browsing on the Internet today and came across a few sites with Man United mobile phone wallpaper today and have to say I think that I’ve found the funniest ones out there. If you go to http://ringtones.mobilefun.co.uk/manchester-united-wallpapers.htm you’ll see what I mean.

They have a wide range of Man Utd caricature art, including former players like Eric Cantona and most of the current team. I have to say that I think the one of Rio Ferdinand is the best one available for sheer laugh out loud factor! Unfortunately, copyright laws apply and so I can’t show that one here, but if you visit the site you will see what I mean for yourself.
